Product Data
ALUSOL is a specially formulated insulating material for use with molten Aluminium. It is available in the form of pouring cups and bushes, riser sleeves and domes, tap hole cones, and boards.
ALUSOL vacuum formed shapes are produced by dewatering a slurry containing body soluble man made mineral fibre, starch and silica. The resulting items when dried are rigid, low density and exhibit the following properties:
- Coloured pale green with organic dye to differentiate them from RCF products.
- High temperature stability.
- Low thermal conductivity.
- Low heat storage.
- Low density.
- Good thermal shock resistance
- Excellent insulation properties in contact with molten Aluminium.

The body soluble fibre is an alkaline earth – silicate fibre which is exempt from classification as a carcinogen because of its high biosolubility and its chemical composition.
